My evening window …

… is open!

But no moths in two hours whatsoever have entered into my kitchen and this is from a large garden full of established shrubs and including beyond countless various nooks and crannies.

There is something wrong, that is for sure.

But a google search reveals next to nothing of up to the minute (or year) moth decline here in the UK.

Luckily my garden displays maturity, complex planting ie a great jumble of many different things and many many niche environments, all mostly never disturbed by any human ie me.

As per usual after the summer solstice the nights seem to be cutting in quickly. This is not something I revel in, luckily a couple of nights ago I treat myself to a car ride up to where for near twenty years we fed horses and me n whatever pet dog went round on our circular walk of an hour. The place is loaded with memories, I fully realise the value of this ‘extra-curricular activity’ and am moving toward when time permitting to ‘get out more’ to stay in touch with this focus of location from years gone past.

The June shutdown of birdsong seemed early this year, I generally name it as the ‘June 13th shutdown’, but this year things seem a bit off course, earlier. A pigeons nest I suspect rock pigeon, was found destroyed and eggs scattered in my garden this morning. I wonder at the new tenants in the let property next door, very cat orientated but also I suspect against garden birds and their song. Why do I think this …. leylandii next door felled to zilch, I suspect her complaints, a dark woman I suspect wanting her own way, I doubt she’ll have much to do with me. Also obviously ‘very set in their ways’, as if at thirty five going on seventy.

Good news is that both birdboxes on rear of house host bee colonies. My garden provides lots of flowering plants, but I look further afield at neighbouring gardens and its a pathetic spectacle, I look around and all is barren, ignorant nothingness and I reckon the birds, insects and small animals likewise think the same. I think its fair to say they vote with their feet so to speak and most winged things flock to my place.

climate change misinformation, time drag ….

This morning at 0900 bbc r4 with Andrew Marr was a profoundly mixed experience, lots of hubris and earnest ‘educated’ pontification, well meaning tones but fell down badly, completely missing the point in many ways. Interesting say re Durer, his life and time, his nature observations and artwork, all basic stuff many I hope would know already, but where it fell flat and this is where it looks like Andrew Marr knows little and hasn’t done much reading if any on this is when we stepped into climate change topics; remember, the remit of bbc radio is to inform and educate.

The two big clangers from just tuning in to the latter portion of the programme were a few minutes on coral reef decline that utterly utterly avoided mentioning the algal/ bryozoan symbiosis that is 100% vital to their continuing existence with no distinct reason given apart from warming; a nonsense skirting and skimming as to why this unique portion of the living world is fast disappearing. Think – algae – diatom- invisible to the naked eye. Another elementary and sad to say basic error was never to mention the absolute importance of anything microscopic, the foundation of all marine life and hence ocean weather systems ie the climate of this planet, us, everything. Yes, theres lots of so-called educated folk on bbc r4 in fact at times it seems to be a necessity for anyone appearing on the programming output and goodness knows an absolute necessity to be employed behind the scenes by the bbc; but I’m sure there will be many clever fifteen year olds with a microscope that have greater insight than this. Too little, too late.

The other quite bizarre takeaway from this bbc r4 Andrew Marr programme at 0900 this morning was at the end a minute or two on ‘whitening of the skies’ to tie in with a book plug and attendant pontificator on such matters !! .. ha ha ha … Andrew, please read this blog numskull. Its already going on, contrary to the impression given that this is all ‘future stuff’ its already under way and has been for years. My own efforts here re chemtrail sky alteration are much diminished because it seems the UKs most prolific chemtrail recorder (me) its now made sure little gets sprayed in the skies observable above this location, thank goodness as theres lots of other things I would rather do with my life. I know where we are going and theres nothing I can do to stop it, a view held widely among scientists. Thousands of pics, a developed reporting system and NASA worldview and flightradar24 tie-in with many hours blogging / recording and all are sufficient to prove to my own mind what is going on. Its pointless to try and engage anyone in this topic of conversation, their minds are incapable, untutored and totally ignorant of what is starkly obvious; popular media too has done a good job at ridiculing folk like me. An exception to the nowadays (previous say four or five months) of clear un-meddled skies here in the north east of England was last Friday 26th Feb 2021, difficult to detect on NASA Worldview, but I’ve lots lots to photograph up in the sky, mainly south and west of here, it was a massive chemtrail afternoon. Lots, parallel lines, cross-overs, chemtrails galore remaining suspended for hours.

Its too quick …

… the pace at which events are unfolding. Thank goodness James Mattis and Obama and others can get word out at the culminating insanity of a trump so-called ‘administration’ …. maybe more like a mal-administration that degrades humanity, the constitution and husbanding the environment.

We have now got into the area of Orwells ‘doublespeak’ where good is bad, right is left and its always getting better (not), the screen is everywhere (tho the latter is not trumps fault). The likes of Kayleigh Macenany beggar belief, we’ve seen it before but I just cannot understand that after three years of dirt from trump anyone whatsoever could defend the total disappointment known as trump, mr tv clip himself.

Likewise the utter crass upturning of truth and fact which seems to be a code of conduct of Republicans that still persist in accepting and encouraging a false message of the merits of their beloved d j trump. Note I deny trump upper case. What drives them, corporate greed, a scramble to buy up bankrupt agribusiness, are they so very obsessed with naked self interest?

trump didn’t know what to do with a Bible, in fact if ever an inhabitant of this planet needed guidance it is donald j trump and his coterie of scrambling hangers on. Very true that total power totally corrupts, Roy Cohn the master of nastiness himself would be very delighted to see how his protégé has turned out.

Worrying to see Genl Mark Milley step into the limelight (or the gaslight) …. I’d wondered who this totally on edge individual could possibly be a few months ago at his first widespread media exposure, standing behind trump nervous as could be imagined, primed and already on hyper-drive! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_A._Milley

Is trump a useful puppet? Who are his puppet masters in the US? Certainly Pence and Mnuchin are the first to come to mind. We know fine well he is in up to his chest beholden to Russia, quite easy to see in trumps lack of desire to investigate the queasy Russia connection, the two hour alone at Helsinki, the chumminess with Russias Kysliak, etc etc … it all stinks.

To dominate the news, the media, online, is trumps agenda, an agenda to stay in the White House at all costs; therefore corporate greed, self interest and the greedy cosy up to him. trump delights that something has come along to take attention away from worsening economic problems and from trumps quite hopeless and useless covid-19 mis-management.

Its true to say whatever trump says in fact the opposite is the actual truth. He slams and points to the media as fake when he himself is the fake, he derides people of ability and learning whilst he himself seems stuck at the level of a ten year old, everyone is a liar whilst only donald j trump has the truth!

Everyone must read and learn from past times of difficulty and danger, per Dr MLK  “Be true to what you said on paper” … The Constitution. History, to read and learn from it is vital at this time.

I feel so sorry for Dr Anthony Fauci…

Its obvious as a medical professional it is most frustrating to cope with a furious controlling and ineducable imbecile as d j trump. Inevitably yet more heads will roll at the instant there is disagreement from trumps tweet of the day byline which of course wavers at whim from whatever is projected from Fox News or from his immediate handlers Mnuchin, Pence or granddaddy Putin; the only good thing about all this is that trumps total inabilities are constantly revealed, trump insistently jeopardises any meaningful handling of the cv-19 epidemic, particularly for the ordinary, poor and vulnerable and the few remaining trump zombie voters must surely start to realise they have been duped.

Its my opinion these last few days here in the UK we need to look to unloosen a little the business clampdown, no-one mentions on media news that often if a business fails the owner loses everything, house, savings etc…. merely to save a few lives of mostly folk that have compromised health already. Sounds callous, but the economic disaster known as lockdown is too destructive if it is carried on as we hear yesterday for another year. Remember the spine-chilling term ‘herd immunity’ this is exactly what it means. I feel sorry for city dwellers, its no more than semi-urban here, distancing is easier. Maybe that’s why the Saxons moved to the country, away from Roman towns and cities!  The clampdown CAN be loosened a little, after all it is the medical and healthcare workers we need to specifically cordon off from public encounters, so far no-one mentions this but they will; they will have to.

Good sense in my mind would be to loosen up soon and carry into autumn, then clamp down again when the season of coughs and sneezes descends upon us. I think we are going to have to live with the fact of 1k deaths a week if that means we avoid financial disaster, economic disaster ie trading and personal disaster ie losing the roof over your head and the psychological disaster of being cooped up in low grade accommodation or abusive unpleasant partners or unruly children.  My heart bleeds for people in less fortunate circumstances, for the poor and vulnerable.

trump and his many pronged attack on good sense and decency...
trump and his many pronged attack on good sense and decency…

Scandals, incompetence, lack of vision.

It baffles me how short sighted the bods at the top really are, I mean the UK Government. BBC r4 radio news this morning again carries mention that highly qualified ultra-competent laboratories in Uni, research, contract testing etc are all available to ramp up cv-19 testing yet multiple contacts and phone calls from Professors and Doctors in their own field produce nothing in return from the NHS or the UK Government;  we are so woefully challenged as how this virus is being handled. I think when we view retrospectively the double scandal not using the myriad of labs available outside of the NHS (which I think possibly can often be in advance of the NHS) and the also incredulous scandal of NOT examining and collating deaths in care homes or at home to achieve more accurate data of lives claimed by the virus. Aiming to deliver a competent speech as say from the Head Boy is NOT the same as the actual hard reality of PPE in the hands of those that need it. Maybe we need a Lord Beaverbrook? The only good thing you can say is that our only resort, social distancing was pushed forward as utterly essential. But has anyone ever yet seen trump or the creepily quiet and distanced Fauci wearing simple handgloves? … scandalous!

This terrible time highlights the lag from daily pronouncement to actual on the ground delivery, such as PPE which contrary to podium pronouncements is not to hand for those at the sharp end. And I wonder if that recent Russian and Chinese PPE was delivered to those that needed it or in fact hoarded by Jared?

All care workers and those in contact with cv-19 patients need to be tested every couple of days, these are ‘hot-beds’ of infection no matter how hard the staff follow as many precautions as possible, that’s of course if they have anything near the PPE ther really need, I mean full face gear, forced ventilation head protection (ever heard anyone mention this?). Wow, as I type this we hear someone from the USA (Prof Paul Rohner sorry I missed the name bbc r4 08:46) saying exactly this idea ie to harness the Universities, to intensively test the hot beds of infection. My thoughts exactly. I also think all in healthcare, care homes etc need their own special distancing, their own family members, these people need to be treat and manouvered as the potential super-spreaders these really are … to NOT test say daily is madness.

News from across the pond and as usual presented uncritically and even as ‘normal’ of the continuing, worsening trump disaster as is typical bbc r4 news stance. At 10pm ‘The world Tonight’ at least has some ‘teeth’ and offers a clearer view, a valuable radio programme. In the old Soviet era photographs people were airbrushed out of the picture to alter history, trump does it by merely denying his previous words and actions. I had thought trump was basically a puppet but these last few days I’m more inclined to think he actually does come up with all this crap mostly from himself. At least his unpredictability is predictable, forever casting himself with hindsight as the ‘stable genius’ and reworking his message at whatever shallow whim drives him that day. We can assume now that those around him really are the dregs, Mnuchin, Miller, Kushner etc and with the White House Eunuch Pence in attendance. Even with Anthony Fauci he really does seems to have trawled for and ineffectual yes-man. These really are sick white folk. Winess jareds outburst a few days ago when questioned as to the Governments own massive stocks of PPE when America struggles …. “They are for us” …. wow yet again a DC comic adventure.

For trump to announce withdrawl of funding to the World Health Organisation is cruel indeed, hell-bent (an apt term if ever) at Trumpian disruption and bile. Witness Yemen, tragic. Its again the trump style, max disruption, max cruelty; its got trump written all over it. To be so stingy and pretend ‘he has a view on anything’ (quite laughable were it not so cruel) is all reality show smoke and mirrors, which is all trump knows apart from conman crow-barring of perceived enemies and debtors; he came from the Roy Cohn School of Charm and Grace.  Thinking about it, this is when Sean Hannity and Fox could do the nation a service and turn this monstrous Clown to a more sensible approach, come on Sean n Co …. help the Free World!

Every day with trump is a backward step.

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/01/31/its-their-lifeline-er-doctor-confronts-mike-pence-iowa-over-trump-medicaid-cuts

Note on the second link how v.p. pence is so impossible to pin down, to get him to admit the harm the trump ‘administration’ administers every single day.  Its so sad to see how George Orwells predictions were so accurate.

Why is it the likes of pence and trump are insistently deaf to truth and common sense?

At 0850 GMT this morning on bbc r4 we heard of trumps ‘good standing in the world’ and how many Americans in fact admire his stance on Foreign Policy, International Relations and Diplomacy!! This I found staggering; I can assume the interviewer was ridiculing the interviewee Carol Leonnig, but maybe the interviewer was convolutedly having to promote a weird r4 morning news stance, perhaps pandering to the directives from above. I find that at 10pm with ‘The World Tonight’ the news is better relayed.

‘eh …. quoted as ‘a success, a master in some ways’ …. what the heck do I seem to be missing here???  More like a master of nastiness and of ridiculing all the enlightenment and advances hard won in many cases that safeguard the ordinary people and the environment and the natural world of America.

trump has created NOTHING BUT DISCORD, FEAR AND MISTRUST.

Its strange how the interview twisted in its couple of minutes duration, as if form of crazy Moebius strip, Carol Leonnig at first stating trump has v little knowledge of anything in other words profoundly ignorant and no inclination to learn, in fact unable to learn and his geography / knowledge of the world map to be very poor indeed. And then bolted on to the end of the interview was the put to bed nonsense of ‘trumps (good) standing in the world’. Its a bad state of affairs when garbage of this sort comes out of my radio. Again, what am I missing, it wasn’t Friday 13th or April 1. But what I do know is that big business has their hand up trump as if a childs glove puppet; trump has no need to think or form policy or be a leader in the real sense, vested interests based on greed and an outdated economic model does the thinking for him.

The nonsense we are told.

bbc r4 this morning devoted a few minutes to some top medical bod telling us we mostly all carry too much weight (yes I agree) and need to look at calories and not particularly look at fat or sugar content (I don’t agree). There was no mention of sedentary tv and i-phone lifestyle, that kids seldom if ever play outside, that so many are hooked on the battery chicken Disney lifestyle, browsing, never making or doing much in particular.  Particularly there was no condemnation of off-the-shelf meals, an over-reliance of frozen as opposed to fresh and the resultant lack of good quality nutrition.

My immediate reaction to this un-thinking piece of low grade journalistic nonsense was how unquestioning the interviewer was. As the famous Mr Meatloaf was quoted recently all you need do is look at sugar and fat….. to which I would add get into home-cooking and some vigorous walking exercise. The latter is so now desperately needed that a few weeks previous again bbc r4 ran a piece that Docs are desperate for pre-op patients wherever possible to get into exercise and a healthier lifestyle. This I concur entirely. It must be hellish to have to deal with raw material ie patients that are so tragically unfit.

I personally do not enjoy eating out whatsoever to the extent I would dread such an invitation.  Surely its more fun to cook and learn at home, the beautiful aromas, the tweaking and experience gained in getting something ‘just right’, a friend and a drink surely what more could you want … and think of the money saved!  Yes it takes time but at least we are not sat in front of the tv or dreaded I-phone and are somehow active and building a skill.

Likewise other moans today, American propaganda in general and specifically the downed airliner.  I am increasingly highly sceptical of any intel or pronouncements offered from the Americans, particularly anything with the taint of trump attached to it. I personally think it was truly shameful that trump upped the tensions in the Middle East with the assassination Soleimani. And as the third article suggests, its probable the Americans can fool enemy radar into mis-identifying the data they see on their radar screens.

IPCC and the refusal to acknowledge the importance of impending methane release.

IPCC is wrong.

Just now I heard on bbc r4 ‘Inside Science’ an interview with Phil Williamson  from Univ East Anglia ie https://people.uea.ac.uk/p_williamson   … concerning the latest report from the IPCC in which impending methane release is given very low priority. This is utterly baffling, quite erroneous and I think the placative ‘one metre by the end of the century’ to be shameful in its misleading nature.

There will not be any  ‘end of century’ to witness I am afraid.

Most of what was said I disagreed with from Phil Williamson, for instance stating that coral reefs could re-generate in fifteen years is utter nonsense, yet again no mention of the bryozoan / diatom symbiosis. Diatoms factor into so many perspectives of what we are going through. I may be wrong, merely an interested layman here. However to quote myself …

Diatoms also live a symbiotic relationship with Bryozoans ie the coloured animals that create and live in coral reefs. It is a dire irony that consuming the oil and gas of ancient diatoms ie comprising 70% of the oil and gas industry has led to both their own and our demise. No-one has ever seen a diatom with the naked eye.

http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/micropolitan/marine/algae/index.html

I would have thought last years IPCC Annual Report in which low importance was given to impending methane release (ie thawing permafrost cap releasing already formed methane gas, rapidly rising microbial activity and thawing methane calthrates; both from land and from the horribly shallow East Siberian ice shelf )  would have now been aligned with enlightened thinking but no, its been swept under the carpet yet again by the IPCC and its select band of contributors. In addition Phils endeavour to constantly massage downward the numbers to 1.5 from 2.0 degrees warming is taking things too far, as dangerous as any over-exaggeration, in my opinion from what I read of other scientists 2 deg C will soon come and go, to be overshot rapidly.

Why is it Prof Peter Wadhams was not interviewed, he knows ice, a lifetimes work.

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/aug/21/farewell-to-ice-peter-wadhams-review-climate-change

Its the nature of nature to ramp and accelerate as outside influences ie mans fossil fuel greed and polluting activities come home to roost. ‘Ye reap as ye shall sow’ seems appropriate. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Reap-What-You-Sow/

Sorry to get Biblical but maybe its an ‘endtimes prompt’ because after all as time trundles on what else shall we cling to, occupy our time?

Work in progress, more info on IPCC obfuscation as info is obtained, merely the opinion of an interested layman.

A few hours later and bbc r4 again broadcasts the radio programme ‘Inside Science’ from five hours previously. Never before have I been so glad of a quick repeat. I feel sorry for Phil Williamson, I can hear in his voice the tension between what the IPCC expects and his own self worth and integrity; he invites others to reach their own conclusions, this I applaud. This also highlights the IPCC to focus on published papers where in fact change is happening SO FAST that published and peer reviewed papers have a self defeating time lag that we now need to circumvent, a view I’ve held since I first latched on to climate change a couple of years ago. Therefore the best we can be sure of is to listen to the likes of Peter Wadhams and for instance Jason Box and Natalia Shakhova.

https://envisionation.co.uk/index.php/blogs/99-russian-scientists-excluded-from-presenting-important-research-as-nasa-goddard-director-tries-to-discredit-observational-scientific-research

From the above I quote …

The event, held a fortnight ago, is still causing controversy beyond the negative tweeting by NASA Goddard Director, Dr Gavin Schmidt. Schmidt aimed his presentation at discrediting the Russian’s work, using theoretical models, without expertise in methane, or credible data. The end result is that the Russian team have composed a letter to Royal Society President, Sir Paul Nurse, asking for an opportunity to present their findings, including contributions from over 30 scientists working in the region for over 20 years.

end of quote.

The ‘main man’ Sam Carana reports on the limp kow-towing IPCC Report and informs us that the IPCC doesn’t even add in methane from the submerged East Siberian ice-shelf ie what will be a quick warming and vast release of methane from less than 50m of underwater thaw; this beggars belief. http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2019/09/ipcc-report-ocean-and-cryosphere-in-a-changing-climate.html

As foretold.

This newer replacement stack with Windows 10 does not help me get at new information so easily as XP, I feel distanced and I am not being presented the latest discussions. But then again we know where climate change is going. There is so much that is not reported, my own fascination with diatoms is central to the climate change arguament but no-one mentions them. Invisible to the naked eye, yet are responsible for 70% of the worlds oil and gas resources, (were) as oceanic algae responsible for DMS production, something which is essential for ocean cloud systems … a point which only last week is termed ‘news’ when in fact none of the scientific modelling even included !!! Beggars belief. Has no-one even remembered reading James Lovelock or have looked and learned about algae through a microscope? Diatom demise is the reason for coral reef decline.

Likewise Paris and the IPCC does not even include methane release in its (near worthless) predictions. I’ve a one-sided wager with a friend that we are the wrong side of 3 deg by end of 2026, which means catastrophe and our certain demise and my £1k will be safe, not that its going to be of any use, apart from some oxygen bottles and some synthetic food, all quite futile. trumps approach to climate change needs to be regarded as a War Crime.

Ponder on the problems of an absent or interrupted electrical supply, moving money and people, web, communications, sewage, water etc.
