Keen .... interested and don't like being fooled. Since I 'turned on' to climate change in Nov 2017 its instantly become all important to me.
So many aspects to consider, loss of sea ice, Arctic methane in its three forms (geological, frozen hydrate and microbial) insane (and deceptive) weather modification programmes, diatom loss (and algae and plankton) therefore loss of Pacific coral, Antarctic ice shelf set to begin collapsing, the methane time bomb, worldwide glacial melting, methane release from permafrost, global warming, Pacific contamination from Fukushima, Jet Stream disturbance, unstoppable feedback loops and the interconnectedness of natural forces and systems .... probable mass extinction etc etc.
I cannot see how there can be such a thing as 'climate change denial'.
I'm very tuned in to being outdoors, I've seen things few other people have ever seen or realised ie plants, animals, signs of our ancient ancestors; rocks, landscape, topography; the microscope, diatoms and algae. And of course the more I learn the greater my humility at how little I know.
Please realise though 2 or 3C sounds nothing it has triggered along with higher CO2 levels our weather systems to go into a self perpetuating feedback mode from a previous 'steady state' and this planets life-forms to be severely thrust into turmoil. Less ice means greater heat absorption, a black algae contributing, jet stream now slit in two and thrusting warm air and damp into the Arctic, These things are real and HAPPENING. Polar bears, the saddest of sights will soon only exist as memory, can you see as many bees in summer? We are losing Arctic and Antarctic ice, at the North Pole it is stupidly over-heated and now exists only as water, you cannot walk there, ie this is now and is now plain fact.
Food production will be vastly hindered, is already inoticeable, also the to be dreaded and increasing chemtrails hinder crop growth, the aluminium we know for fact promotes plant disease, hinders solar energy production and destroys ozone. Aluminium from chemtrails has destroyed waterborne entomology ie insect life, as well as I'm guessing diatoms and algae (and as not yet discussed coral reef destruction, the bryozoanss have lost their diatom partners) .... bees now battle with dementia from aluminium. One part say the lower part of the food chain cannot be taken away without all collapsing. Witness the much under-reported Pacific sea bird collapse of 2015. SAVVY UP - BE AWARE !!!
But I have twice previously encountered high achieving African males that have been propelled to a high functioning role and have found them strangely obstructive, intransigent and totally unable to realise there is a crisis to be addressed. Here today I am thinking of Kwasi Kwarteng.
The bbc r4 news this evening and this last couple of days tells me energy intensive industries which sadly I would think operate on slim margins all shake their head on Kwarteng being deaf to their pleas.
You’ll not get many if any people that work in the countryside to agree with re-wilding. Its another one of those subjects turned into something emotive, something that its no longer so easy to get the activists to embrace the full story. I wonder if the web has aided tribalism? …. of course it has.
A myriad of life can exist in a multi-purpose landscape, goodness how difficult it would be to fight ones way through sheep walk turned to hawthorn scrub. Nor do I want to have my progress straight-jacketed into pre-cut walks and pathways. Nature and all its little participants is very clever, theres a habitat for just about everybody, barring of course the hopeful additions that we heard Chris mention yesterday, Lynx, goodness what else and oh yes he tells us bears and wolves! Oh dear, how silly. I always think it a bit corny when an army of kids are enrolled to march upon The Palace!
In a practical real-life situation it has been the fifty years of excessive drainage on upland areas that to my mind has caused great harm, eradicating the upland sponge that minimises flooding. Likewise for decades farmers were paid to eradicate old hedges. How silly and blind!
Another point that I’ve never heard anyone speak of is the universal municipal spraying at any feature of grassed pathways, ie signposts, lampposts, fencing, kerb edges, all of these are microhabitats for tiny things which in turn would be a source of food. I’m talking about the nooks and crannies that have been rendered useless, not neccessarilly a complete re-wilding as per recent experiments. Here of course I am assuming the insect count is down compared with unsprayed, I must be vigilant here, as a great byword of mine is ‘don’t assume’, which is probably the most basic and elementary understanding in any rational and scientific treatment of any subject or situation.
Good quality front gardens are in great decline, concrete slabs, block paving and gravel as standing for cars has eliminated I guess a full half of what might have been a convenient hop off point and source of food for garden birds. A decent garden much like the washing line is becoming a rare thing. Even rarer is the ability to allow leaf litter to remain, to be adding an extremely beneficial upper organic layer that returns soil to what it should be, it was never intended to be naked.
I wonder to what extent ‘nature’ is taught in schools, I know in my early 1970’s UK Secondary School it was poorly dealt with. I could do a far better job myself. If art, practical handicraft (ie wood and metalwork) have been near eradicated and music in great decline at state schools then what of nature study?
My usual hobbyhorse of diatoms is a no-fail way to get kids interested.
Sounds like an excellent cryptic password for two spies meeting but in fact its the reality of a new pack of pegs for my washing line. They are of bamboo, good pegs too, stronger more longer lasting than the previous softwood always pinging apart junk. A joy to use actually.
So there it is, bamboo has infiltrated into what would be a mundane and seemingly simple article for use in an English garden, something initially we think parochial but in fact universal, what country on Earth could function without clothes pegs! I wish the manufacturer well in their effort, a good at a reasonable price product, not plastic either, the plastic pegs as they remain outside 365 eventually degrade and snap.
If only more households were so keen on outdoor drying and the clothes line as I am, the wind is free, it does a good job at drying my laundry, sometimes maybe the indoor (wait for it …) bamboo pole strung up in my kitchen is needed in the winter months to help things along; people regard me as a man always with fresh pressed shirts, never a mess.
I do not have a functioning washing machine, the near never ending spin cycle irritated me so once the m/c itself failed to work it was a blessed relief. I enjoy laundry by hand, it was all our forbears had and so its good enough for me. I also think of carbon footprint. Looking around this small estate where I live neither immediate neighbour puts anything out on the line, I wonder if many do this at all? Thinking of our forebears, surely its obvious a Biblical lifestyle would have solved all this planets problems, but I would think too late now for what ever changes we can make.
postscript … COP26 Glasgow coming up, well intentioned but I fear just a ‘talking shop’ and platitudes and mission statements will abound but the nett effect I fear … ‘not much’.
How many ton of carbon will it take to mount, hold and assemble all the likely bods from around the globe for this climate love-fest?
Andrew Glikson writes with sense over on http://arctic-news.blogspot.com highlighting the difficulty of … a) climate scientists making themselves heard and … b) the fear of being defunded or dismissed.
Funny how I can be so prescient, as with the newly revealed ‘Pandora Papers’ the point I have made for years is at last driven home, to how tax evasion has even drivelled down to the little man, as my neighbour waddled up to me to brag of his near nil contribution on £50k to this countrys performance… so many, so many bust a gut and or hire the trickiest and cleverest accountants to make their tax contribution dwindle to near microscopic proportions.
If Boris cannot match drivers to the necessary requirements of an adequate operating capacity for this countrys food needs then what the heck is he doing managing this country?
Can he be trusted or can he even comprehend the necessary fine detail and sophistication of fiscal policy, the control of money supply and inflation, of effective financial management, of international relations, ie complicated stuff ad infinitum etc etc all bound up with understanding nomenclature and terms that I cannot comprehend? The last few days we have had daily re-runs of ‘crisis what crisis’ when in fact the first requirement to solving anything is to realising there actually IS a problem.
Increasingly when I see and hear Boris I cannot help but recall some bumbling inept middle or higher rank military man.
The highly toxic and disadvantageous mix of Brexit and shunning of all European hired hands is an absolute recipe for disaster but yes we certainly walked into it eyes wide open. Farage and any other brexiteer you can think of have certainly landed us into a complete mess, setting the clock back fifty years.
The Tories talk of ‘levelling up’ but as every day ticks by there is nothing other than an increasing inequality, a blind halfwit would surely be able to ascertain of this. A case in point has been the withdrawl of the £20 regular covid payment, being withdrawn we are told ‘to save money’ but this so-called reason is complete nonsense, the hardship, anxiety and fear engendered by this measly withdrawl of an assistance payment will result in far more than any twenty quid per person in future spending to help the poor and needy. Yet it is only now that furlough payments are to cease, an expense that could have stopped even months ago. A bit of a joke considering present day mobility, there must be many people back to working full time and pocketing the furlough money. Another state sponsored scam…..
To compound Tory stupidity as well as announcing stopping the £20 covid payment Boris and team announce ‘new measures’ to help the poor ie another form of payment to look for. Surely if all is ticking over why the heck introduce yet another with set of hurdles with all the attendant stress and admin costs of starting all over again from scratch! Loony is the only term for Boris & Co. Madness. All of this when we are staring into the prospect of inflation of the likes we have never seen for many decades even for the simplest things as food and heating.
Why is practical wisdom and the foresight of experience so unfashionable?
Another quite blind and stupid idea from Boris and his team of which Rishi Sunak the Chancellor seems adamantly keen are the cuts in Overseas Aid, this again is madness. Imagine in your mind projects and programmes that would be abandoned, food, medicine, healthcare, schools, assistance to self sufficiency, birth control, education, equal rights …. all scuppered by the ‘levelling up’ Tories. I’m sure China would be delighted to step-in, if we in the West are so stupid then good luck to them. Very much a case of out of sight out of mind with Boris and the team I think, this could in fact suit them admirably as a campaign slogan.
If I were in charge the first thing I would do is hunt down those big corporations that are so skilfull at tax evasion, the Amazons that are destroying the multivarious web of stockist to end user network that has existed for a long time, their relentless market capture.
Additionally here in the UK we have an epidemic of individuals operating for tax purposes as Limited Companies, this I think is as obscene as any tax avoidance by say Amazon. Already this typical individual IR35 is on ‘big money’ and somehow pleads themselves as a special case somehow not needing to contribute as all the rest of us…. quite sickening. Yet still expect a legal system, Police, education, healthcare whenever it suits them! IR35 hypocrites I think is the correct term.
Can anyone explain the lines in the sky to me, here is imagery first available about two hours ago on NASA Worldview. I judge not, I merely look and ponder ….
Note the sudden cut-off at left. The air is thick with a.m. ie morning chemtrail in Spain and the Med for Monday 27th Sept 2021. Please click the link and see in more detail.
We have walked eyes wide open into one self inflicted disaster after another, not only exiting Europe but the double whammy of hindering or stopping free exchange of workers. Its usual in life when huge (a Boris word if ever …. ) changes are implemented to taper and slide as much as possible, to ease the pain. After all, this is not wartime, we should strive to allow light and clarity and an exchange of good will to predominate in our lives. It was not a secret that European drivers, European fruit and produce pickers and European process workers were fundamental to the UK food and distribution industry. The big joke has been that a ballerina is permitted to work in the UK from Europe (yet live performance has barely started theres no real need for them surely… ) but that drivers, pickers, process workers are not!
The latest news is that some trivial amount at 10k people are allowed in short-term only until Christmas Eve …. a most stupid cut-off date imaginable as we know fine well they will want to travel to be back with their families!
Question: wheres the brains in this UK Government?
Another big self inflicted disaster and for decades has been the often pointless tweaking at state school education and curriculum. many kids are barely literate, they cannot sketch or explain themselves or grasp a sense of community or of how to living inclusively.
In Cabinet and at the helm we are supposed to have the best and brightest, this not now looking to be the case. Why do we seem to be so keen on rich Asians to to take up as many posts as possible, these rich people cannot understand the blind sightedness and cruelty of stopping a twenty quid note to the poor and the needy; or of the fear and uncertainty all compounded by the travails of covid. I cannot be impressed by Rishi Sumac, nor Priti Patel, the latter making it a prisonable offence to enter the UK. We also live in a more unfair society as from I think Thatcher onward the Local Authority house building programme pretty well dried up, very soon people were dependant on private landlords, the worst possible situation.
Heres the bombshell, its my opinion theres too many people on the planet, if we could halve the population then we might be holding each other in better regard, more able to survive on the food this limited and compromised earth can supply. People knock the Chinese but for most of the twentieth century they proceeded around on bicycles and consumed little…. and had a one child policy. Surely these are things we should all aim for, but hubris, ambition, consumerism will undo any fine objectives.
And we are all of one species, this encroaching Nationalism from any part of the world is unethical, immoral, free exchange of peoples surely is how humanity needs to proceed.
The silly huff-puff nonsense administration of Boris Johnson in his onward and downward insistence of removing the twenty quid boost for people on benefits here on the UK is stingy in the extreme, Dickensian and mean to excess. It deserves to be on a list of queerly named characters that by their mere pronounciation spell ‘hard times’.
So who are these people in Cabinet that so sincerely appreciate the day to day and hour to hour existence of the poor, I mean ‘the poor folk at the bottom’ that can only hope at best to scrape along, or to survive for another twenty four hours but know fine well they imbibe nothing of any decent nuitrition and overall are ‘going down’. No bloody wonder we have beggars in our cities, what else are they supposed to do !
Lets look at a few of these considerate and understanding folk, with life experience to stand them in good stead; in no particular order …
I’m choosing at random, I applaud their achievements and opportunities in education, but I still question their ability to realise the nerve-frying insult to stop £20 a week. The above are all very wealthy, possessing considerable capital, they have confidence, unfazed by what tomorrow may throw at them. Even the less advantaged are drunk on power, witness Prit Patel, callous indeed and of such modest beginnings.
We had them yesterday through daytime overhead and in the evening real big ones extending a full forty five degrees over on the western horizon say above central and western part of northern England ie chemtrails in Cumbria. This at a guess makes the visible portion from my viewpoint sixty to eighty miles away and observed length same. My self-invented DQA Reporting System I rate as DQA 8-3-3; in other words 80% duration for most of the day, quantity 30% and affect ditto.
This morning for north Tyneside / Northumberland I wake up to again, obvious chemtrail. with the resultant haze by 08:45 I rate at DQA 10-3-4, firstly rated 10/10 because they were present all of the hours of daylight and note the latter figure, the ‘affect’ more problematic. A problem because I do not want or like my skies messed around with!
From the top of my head points to note with chemtrail …
chemtrails linger, broaden out and create a hazed, whitened or grey sky, and can affect the lower cloud forming layers.
chemtrails are composed of substances not good for public health, not good for bees, insects etc.
chemtrail build-up leads to an ‘altered sky’ in various forms, heavy grey dense ‘reaction clouds (my term) ‘ at its so far observed ‘worst’.
its v difficult / impossible to find high definition weather radar to reveal chemtrail, without doubt Meteorologists must have been required to sign The Official Secrets Act, otherwise they would be screaming about it.
its also v difficult to get NASA Worldview to capture a good proportion of chemtrail activity, my guess it only pick or reveals say 20-30%.
chemtrail leads to a build up of nano-particle aluminium that has probably lead to food chain collapse in once bountiful rivers, to autism, possibly dementia, and I’m sure the voracity of record levels of wildfires. Remember, fine particle aluminium can weld solid steel rails to form jointless welded railway line, ie thermite and its also an explosive for demolition; fine particle aluminium is nasty stuff …
Most folk will look out the window after breakfast to see ‘another hazy day’ and give the matter no further thought, because of course they didn’t see the horizon to horizon widening chemtrail streak across their sky earlier that morning at 0630, nor were able or bothered to view the distant horizon at sunset; they don’t connect, they don’t to any great extent ‘think’.
If only we could to assemble a number of observers across the UK, and utilise lorry drivers to take note each sunrise whats up there in the sky. My own viewpoint is merely to observe and document, admittedly only as far as my life and work permit me.
Lets have a quick tootle around on NASA Worldview for yesterday 16th Sept 2021 …
At point 3,3 above (ie 0-10 from top LH corner) note the shadow cast on the lower more normal cloud system.
Theres lots of chemtrail in the sky above, if we go back to 14th Sept 2021 heres the mediterranean looking very hazed over … https://go.nasa.gov/2VNx6do ie below.
Chemtrail Mediterranean, Sardinia, Balearics, chemtrail over Italia 14th Sept 2021 https://go.nasa.gov/2VNx6do
Lets zoom in to the chemtrail nonsense over to the western shore of Sardinia ie chemtrail Sardinia, Oristano, western Mediterranean, 14th Sept 2021 … https://go.nasa.gov/2YWU96G here below.
Theres more, but above is the most obvious and I hope nudges people to question what they see in the sky above. For instance for the day previous ie 13th Sept 2021 we find a mass of chemtrail over the English Channel, Rotterdam, Antwerp etc … https://go.nasa.gov/3nHjv2T
For 17th Sept a lot of chemtrail in English Channel, Channel Islands, Brittany, northern France …. https://go.nasa.gov/2Xugl7p
